Welcome to my blog!

The purpose of this blog is to record my learning experience in the course: Use of Technology for the Teaching of English.

We learn something new every day. Let's share.

In our first week of class, we talked about Virtual Learning Environments (VLE) and Personal Learning Networks (PLN).

I learned about a very powerful and useful PLN called Edmodo. Here we can create our own virtual learning environment where teachers, students, and parents can keep track on all the learning activities.

Technology is out there for us to take advantage of it to enhance our teaching. We only need to take the time to find appropriate and available technology tools to help our students learn best.

We all worked hard to learn how teachers can use technology to teach English in a way that will make lessons more engaging and appealing.

On our last day of classes, we discovered the pros of using social media in the classroom.

I never cared much about Twitter, but now I know that there are many applications.  I can get or share information on certain topics, keep our school community connected, apply surveys, share teaching experiences, communicate with experts, monitor our students’ learning process, have our students write about current news and how they affect us.   Besides, Twitter gives us only 140 characters to get the entire message across, our students will finally learn how to be concise.
As you see, the advantages of using Twitter in our classrooms are vast. Let's keep up the good work and continue to improve our teaching by applying Twitter and any other technology tool in our classrooms that can help us be more effective teachers.

See you soon,
